I am a regular visitor to the sites where on a daily basis the Israeli security apparatus abuses and tortures thousands of Palestinians. I can count on one hand the number of Israeli academics I have met in these locations.

This weekend I attended a small rally in Tulkarem, where Palestinian NGOs were calling for a boycott of Israeli goods. Although the group was small, they were organized and seemed intent to follow through with this goal.

Kid, why don't you want to perform combat service? A new comprehensive plan formulated by officials at the Education and Defense Ministries will see high school students fill out questionnaires in an effort to examine their motivation to serve in the army, Ynet has learned. The surveys, to be handed out to grade 10-12 students,will look into teenagers' views on military service and their preferences regarding the types of service. The plan's objective is to identify hesitant students in an effort to boost the motivation to serve among such teens.
